Thermal Efficiency Properties
CORE MATERIALS
Bellcomb composite panels have excellent insulation properties. The core is inherently an insulating member because both honeycomb and foam cores trap air between the two skins. This allows a panel to be insulating, structural, and weight reducing. This benefit may eliminate the need for additional insulation materials, further reducing the cost and weight of the whole system. We offer a large number of materials that can satisfy your panel requirements completely and appropriately.
Highest rated core materials for thermal efficiency:
- Polyurethane foam
- Polyethylene foam
- Polystyrene honeycomb
- Nomex™ honeycomb
- Phenolic Impreg Kraft honeycomb
SKIN MATERIALS
Combining a specific core with an even more essential skin can ultimately enhance the insulation characteristics of your panel. There are numerous combinations available depending on what other characteristics are required in your panel construction. Polymer and Wood skins are our most thermal reducing materials. A Kraft or Polyurethane core covered in Extruded FRP skin, for example, would be an ideal solution for many thermal efficiency concerns.
Highest rated skin materials for thermal efficiency:
- Extruded FRP
- Lauan
- Plywood
- Hardboard
